Dear Grace Family,

Living in the "already but not yet" can be difficult.  After all, we are new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and yet, we "groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies" (Romans 8:23). Often, because despair can be easier to embrace than hope, we see ourselves only through the lens of "not yet."

In Ephesians 1:15-23, Paul's prayer expresses his desire for these Christians in Ephesus to grasp the blessings that are theirs in Christ and become more of who they already are in him. In other words, he prays that they would lean into the "already" in a "not yet" world.

My hope this Sunday is that we would be encouraged by this prayer and in turn, embrace more of our belovedness in Christ.

I look forward to worshiping with you!
