Dear Grace Family,
This past August, I went on an epic—and by epic, I mean totally sweet—road trip with my two oldest daughters. We drove from Seattle to Nashville and got to see some incredible sights—like Arches National Park in the photo above.
But, my greatest joy about the trip was not the incredible beauty we saw. My greatest joy was being with my daughters whom I love. We weren’t just sightseeing, eating great food, and meeting up with friends old and new. We were doing all of this together, and that’s what made it special.
God absolutely delights at being in our presence. Let me repeat that because most of us have a hard time grasping it:
God absolutely delights at being in our presence.
In many ways, my life story is about how God is bringing me to a fuller and fuller belief of that simple but life-changing reality. God loves being with me. God loves being with you. God loves being with us.
What would it look like for a congregation to build its life around this almost-too-good-to-be true declaration of love?
What would it look like for you to build your life around it?
