These classes vary from biblical books and themes, theology, and practical Christian living. The classes give us the ability to do a deeper dive into Scripture and various other topics.
We are currently (Fall 2024—Spring 2025) working our way through the book of Isaiah. This book was written to people that claimed to follow God, but deep down they were followers of God in name only. Through Isaiah’s prophetic ministry, God challenges them to repentance and to live as people who began to embrace the covenant love of God from their hearts.
We will go carefully through the biblical text and cover questions like, “What is the big, overarching story of Scripture?” or “What did political anxiety look like in Isaiah’s day, and how does that speak to us?”
Prior classes include: The Gospel of Mark Women in Ministry Leadership The Gifts of Anglicanism Job Sexuality, Gender, and Christian Faithfulness Race, Whiteness, and the Church
All 6th-12th grade students are invited to join us this year as we engage with the important and challenging topics of gender and sexuality. Our hope in engaging with these topics is not simply to provide theological perspective, but to invite students to bring all of themselves into contact with Jesus and his people. We gather initially in Room 102 for a fun icebreaker, then engage in our curriculum as a large group, and finally divide into smaller breakout groups.
This is an hour of fellowship and connection with rotating activities of lego building, cooking, balloon animals, and crafts. We participate in memorization work and have short visits from the adults in our church community to hear and learn about the jobs and activities they participate inside and outside of the church.
All children need to be signed into KidCheck, a secure children check-in system, and wear their KidCheck name tag to enter class. Check-in stations can be found in the upstairs foyer or downstairs in the hall outside the classrooms.
Children 2nd grade and younger will be escorted to their age appropriate classes taking place during the worship service. Children 3rd grade and older are dismissed on their own.
