Weekend Silent Retreats: February 24 – 26, 2023
The weekend Silent Retreat tradition continues! These retreats are our opportunity to rest in the beauty and quiet of Archbishop Brunett Retreat Center, to seek the face of God, and find yourselves held in Jesus' loving gaze. This is good for the soul. Really good! There are trails nearby, amazing views of Puget Sound, warm fireplaces, and your own bedroom/bathroom for your privacy and relaxation. "God never tires of giving, nor can He exhaust His mercies. Centering Prayer Group Opportunity at The Layne: Are you looking for a way to explore or deepen your relationship with God in community? In our Centering Prayer group, you will discover a centuries-old prayer method. Centering Prayer consists of simply sitting in silence with God - beyond thoughts, words, and emotions and opening our mind, heart and whole being to the Trinity. We invite you to join us at The Layne for six sessions of an hour of prayer from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on the following Thursday evenings: January 18, March 9, and May 25. The Centering Prayer Group will be guided by Shelly Morse or Donna Kelly. We begin each session praying a Psalm together, a 20-minute period of Centering Prayer, followed by Sacred Reading of Scripture (Lectio Divina). We will open the meeting at 7:00pm so we have time to visit with friends before we settle into prayer. All are welcome. Please register to attend at www.soulcareseattle.com.
Half-day Retreat schedule at the Layne: Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
2023: Jan 14, Jan 28, Feb 11, Feb 25th, March 4, March 18, April 8, April 22, May 6, May 20
These retreats are available to those who would like to experience silence & prayer in community. You will start, and end, as a larger group, but then you will have personal time to do any of the following: contemplate the prayers and writings that are given to you, walk in the beautiful parks around The Layne, or rest on the porch or other areas in the house. We want to invite you to join us - even make a practice of joining us - as we face together the fears of solitude, stillness, and silence and say "yes" to Jesus' invitation to rest - to be at peace, and know yourself as his beloved.
Please register to attend at www.soulcareseattle.com. If you have any questions email renee@soulcareseattle.com.
