Serve
World
God's people have always been challenged to think outside of our own little lives and communities. Grace partners with various national and international efforts and provides prayer, financial, and volunteer support. From time to time, Grace folks make trips to join in the work firsthand.
Here are the good people we are currently working with:
- Thai-Akha Ministries Foundation: A fantastic church-planting and human-rights organization in Northern Thailand. Grace groups regularly take trips to work alongside them.
- Sacred Road Ministries: A really great work among the Yakama people in south-central Washington.
- African Bible Colleges: Jay & Laura Stoms serve as missionaries at the African Bible College in Malawi.
- Mission to Unreached Peoples: Glenn & Gayle Beckwith are currently serving in Thailand.
The following are current opportunities:
- Sponsor an Akha child. The Akha Youth Development Center provides housing and education to help young people escape the sex and drug trades in Thailand. You can support a child for $40/month. For more information, email Michael Subracko.
- Join a mission trip to Sacred Road. In the summer of 2012, a group from Grace will be traveling to the White Swan Reservation to work with the Yakama people. For more information, email John Haralson.
- Hospitable Heart for China? Have you ever been touched by hospitality? China’s scholars are in our midst and eager to connect. One way to show hospitality is by providing a friendly homestay environment for a student or research scholar coming to the University of Washington this fall (homestays are typically for 7-10 days). Email Heidi Schuler, Campus Ministry Staff, China Outreach Ministries or more information or to receive updates on other ways to show hospitality to Chinese students at UW.
