Dear Friends,

This Sunday, we have the privilege of having Jay Thomas Hewitt preaching God’s word to us. Some of you know Jay Thomas (important note: he has a double first name, those crazy Southerners :)). Many of you, however, may not know him.

Jay Thomas was on our staff from 2007-2009 as a Pastoral Assistant. From here, he was ordained as a minister and served at Central Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri. For the past four years, he and his family have lived in Scotland where he has been working on his PhD in New Testament at the University of Edinburgh. This summer, the Hewitts relocated to Seattle while Jay Thomas is finishing up his thesis on Paul’s usage of the concept “in Christ” in the New Testament.

Jay Thomas is a good friend and a good preacher. So, I’m excited to have him back this week for many reasons. Be warned though, the last time he preached at Grace, it inspired me to get a new tattoo. I can’t promise that you’ll have the same response as I did, but you never know.

This Sunday: Lord of the Feast, Isaiah 25:6-9

I hope to worship with you.
